Achieving Atraumatic Extractions & Simple Socket Preservation
This course is a one-day program, where the attendees will learn atraumatic extraction and simple socket preservation techniques. All licensed U.S. and Canadian dentists will have the opportunity to work on live patients provided by us with supervision by our Amplify faculty. Each dentist can expect to perform at a minimum of ten extractions, and have the opportunity to do many more if desired, including full upper and/or lower cases. Most extractions will be difficult extractions, including broken down or decayed teeth, providing a great learning experience.
Please note, AMP1 is not a grafting program, but we will teach a simple socket preservation technique that all attendees can easily implement into their offices following an atraumatic extraction. For doctors looking for grafting education please consider our AMP2 program. AMP1 is not a prerequisite for AMP2, where AMP2 can be taken without taking AMP1.

Recommended Hotel: In the interest of providing our course attendees with a reasonable hotel rate for your visit to Metro Detroit for the January 2019 AMP1 course date, we recommend staying at the Detroit Marriott Livonia Hotel in Livonia, Michigan. Livonia is a nice area that is not too far from the airport and is around 15min or so outside of the City of Detroit. We normally have our course attendees stay in Downtown Detroit for our programs, but it is the opening night of the North American Auto Show during the January course date and our normal hotel rates are in the $399 to $600 range per night Downtown, which we thought was too much for your visit to Detroit for our program.
We have arranged your transportation to the University for the course on Saturday morning from the Detroit Marriott Livonia Hotel hotel in Livonia. We will provide the details on the pick-up time at the hotel closer to the course date.
Please use the link below to make your reservation. https://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-photos/dtwli-detroit-marriott-livonia/
For those that would like to make alternative arrangements, or are local, there is plenty of free parking at the University for the course on Saturday morning.
Please note: if you have any issues with hotel booking, please contact us and we can assist.
Transportation: There will be a free shuttle service to and from the Westin Hotel and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. The shuttle will pick you up in the street level lobby of the Westin at 7:40am. If you are not taking the shuttle, please plan to arrive at 8:00am for registration and a light continental breakfast. Lecture will start at 8:30am.
For transportation to the Airport following the program on Saturday, we can arrange this for you the day of the program and have you travel to the airport as a group.
For transportation to the hotel on your day of arrival, the airport has several options available, as well as third-party services such as UBER.
Airport & Flight Suggestions: Detroit Metro Airport (DTW). The airport is about 20 minutes from the University and Hotel, please take this into consideration when booking your flights. Typically, our attendees will arrive the evening before and get a flight home Saturday evening or Sunday morning depending on where you are returning to.
Attire: For the live patient aspect we recommend wearing scrubs or you may bring a pair of scrubs to change into for this aspect of the program. Alternatively, lab coats will also be provided for you as well if you prefer not to wear scrubs and to just wear a lab coat. If you work normally with loops, we also recommend to bring them and anything else to make you comfortable and your learning experience the best as possible.
Cancellation Policy: Due to the preparation that is involved for the live-patient surgery aspect of the education program, we will refund 80% of your registration fees for cancellations received 35 days in advance of the course and apply a 20% cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received 35 days or less before the course date or for no shows. Please allow allow 3-4 weeks for tuition refunds within the stated refund policy.
